I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… there’s no better feeling on earth than when an author releases another book baby out into the world. Today I’m happy to announce the release of One Last Kiss: The Knights of Berwyck, A Quest Through Time (Book Five) a medieval/time travel romance. Yes! We’re celebrating Christmas in July. Previously released in the Bluestocking Belles/ 2018 boxset, Follow Your Star Home, my novella is now available for individual sale.

I’ve had a few people ask “What about Book Four?” Never fear, dear readers. Unfortunately, I started book four entitled Love Will Find You and then life got in the way and I needed to set it aside so I could meet my committment with the Belles. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for its release. Love Will Find You is currently with my editor!

In the meantime, read on to learn about Thomas and Jade and their journey with time so they can find their happily-ever-after ending!

One Last Kiss: The Knights of Berwyck,
A Quest Through Time (Book Five)
Only $0.99!

Scotland, 1182: Banished from his homeland, Thomas of Clan Kincaid lives among distant relatives, reluctantly accepting he may never return home… Until an encounter with the castle’s healer tells him of a woman traveling across time—for him.

Dare he believe the impossible?

Present Day, Michigan: Jade Calloway is used to being alone, and as Christmas approaches, she’s skeptical when told she’ll embark on an extraordinary journey. How could a trip to San Francisco be anything but ordinary? But when a ring magically appears, and she sees a ghostly man in her dreams…

Dare she believe in the possible?

Thrust back in time, Jade encounters Thomas—her fantasy ghost. Talk about extraordinary. But as time works against them, they must learn to trust in miracles.

Can they accept impossible love before time interferes?

One Last Kiss was previously in the Bluestocking Belles’ 2018 holiday box set entitled Follow Your Star Home. This novella is now being released for individual sale and includes bonus material of several entries that appeared on the Belles’ blog the Teatime Tattler.

Welcome to another First Kiss Friday. Please help me welcome my dear friend Jude Knight who will give you an excerpt from her novella The Beast Next Door from the Bluestocking Belles’ box set, Valentines From Bath! Happy reading and enjoy.

Excerpt:

“Are you cross with me for not kissing you, Charis?” Eric’s voice had dropped to a husky purr, and again, his thumb touched her, this time tracing her lips. “I was afraid.”

Without her volition, Charis turned her head to follow his hand as he went to draw it away. “A—afraid?” she stammered.

“You and I have been alone, dolcezza mia; no chaperone to protect your honor—and mine, for I feared that once I started I would be unable to stop. I long for you so. I imagine how soft your lips will be, how you will melt in my arms, how you would look…” he stopped, catching his lower lip in his teeth.

Charis blushed. “Did we need a chaperone, Eric?”

“You doubt it?” He lowered his face towards hers, slowly. Perhaps he was trying not to startle her. Perhaps he wanted to give her time to turn her head or to pull away. Charis waited, lifting her face to make her lips more accessible.

He was right to call himself a scoundrel, for he stopped just a couple of inches away. When he made no further move, she lifted onto her toes and closed the distance.

Eric greeted her initiative with an approving murmur, his mouth cruising in small kisses along hers. Was that his tongue sliding along the seam of her mouth? She opened her mouth to ask, and it darted inside, sending a bolt of sensation all the way to her female places. Dimly, she was aware of one large hand lifting her derrière, holding her up. Just as well. Without that support, she would have fallen from his lap, although how she had arrived in such a scandalous position she could not have said.

She essayed a foray with her own tongue and was rewarded by Eric’s groan as his hand pulled her even closer to his body, and something hard dug into her hip. She wriggled, and he groaned again, pulling away a fraction of an inch to say. “Amore mio,” in a strangled moan.

Charis wanted to moan herself. Her breasts felt hot and heavy, and the lower part of her torso was uncomfortable, as if each kiss pierced through to that forbidden place. She wanted. She gripped Eric’s nape and pulled him back to her mouth, and that both eased the ache and made it worse.

When Eric’s free hand first brushed and then cupped one of her breasts, she leaned into the new sensation eagerly, her own hands roaming down from Eric’s neck to the bare skin under his banyan. The hand behind her tugged her closer. “Bellisima,” Eric murmured.

Perhaps Eric could move whatever he had in the pocket of the silk trousers he wore under his banyan. “Something is digging into me,” she whispered, shifting uneasily.

It was the wrong thing to say. Eric stilled, and then lifted his head. With both hands on her hips, he shifted back onto the seat beside him, then tucked her head against his shoulder and wrapped his arms around her. “Thank you, dearest Charis,” he said.

“For the kiss?”

“Yes, definitely for the kiss. And for reminding me that you are an innocent and I am a gentleman who greatly esteems you and wishes to cherish you for all our days.” He was breathing hard, as if he had run a considerable distance, and Charis, too, felt short of breath.

The Beast Next Door in
Valentines From Bath
Just $0.99!

In all the assemblies and parties of Bath, no-one Charis met could ever match the beast next door.

Charis Fishingham has always felt more at home at Eastwood—Beastwood, as the neighbours called it, after the flawed child who once lived there. In the Eastwood gardens, Charis can escape her mother’s expectations, her sisters’ chatter, and her own worries about her future. There, she reads and remembers her secret friend, long gone into exile to have his birthmarks removed at his family’s command.

Now the Beast has returned. Eric Lord Wayford would rather face the surgeons of Naples and Napoleon’s armies than the tongues of the ton. He joyfully greets Charis, and their future looks to be full of hope.

But someone does not wish Charis to wed the Beast of Beastwood, and will stop at nothing to keep them apart.

For All of Ever, Historical Romance, Medieval Monday, Medieval Romance, Sherry Ewing, Star Crossed Lovers, Time Travel

There is nothing better than a Medieval Monday unless it’s if I can also share my time travel stories with my readers. For All of Ever: The Knights of Berwyck, A Quest Through Time Novel (Book One) was a bit of a surprise. I never thought about writing a time travel romance and Lynet’s story from A Knight To Call My Own was supposed to be next. But my character’s are a stubborn lot and had to have their way. I have to admit that Katherine and Riorden are perhaps my favorite couple but shhhh… don’t let the others know.

Enjoy this short excerpt from For All of Ever. In this scene, Katherine is having a dream about the knight she has dreamed about her entire life. In fact, both Katherine and Riorden share their dreams. Talk about a romance crossing time itself. Happy reading!

He stood before her with his hand outstretched for her to take, a bit of arrogance and impatience clearly etched across his features.

“Is it you?” she heard herself ask, even though she would have known this man before her no matter where in time he had found her.

“I only mean to keep you safe,” he declared, not answering her question as he shifted uneasily on his feet. His eyes were ever watchful on the knights standing guard nearby.

“Yes, I know. Have you seen me before?” she asked quietly, hoping that he, too, had dreamed of her.

He gazed down upon her, searching her face until the ocean winds whipped the hood on her cloak from her head then watched with interest as her hair became tossed about. Finally, he reached out to catch one of her errant curls. The tendril wrapped itself around his hand, almost as if laying some kind of claim to him. He began rubbing the tresses between his fingers as if memorizing the silkiness of her locks. She watched as he came back to his senses, and he frowned, she assumed, at her words. “You’re speech is most strange, mademoiselle.”

“I’m not from…the area.”

“You travel with King Henry? Mayhap, you are one of the ladies in waiting at court?” he inquired. One look at her humble cloak would have told him this wasn’t the case.

“No,” she replied simply, for what explanation of where she came from would make sense to him.

“You’re sire is here then. Perchance, I may return you to his side so I can ensure your safety,” he concluded. Once more, he held out his hand for her to take.

She acknowledged his gesture with only a sad smile. “I suppose I’ll one day see my parents again, but I think it’s impossible for now.”

“Then let me, at the very least, see you inside the keep so I may rest, knowing you are not in danger.”

She looked up into his blue eyes and began to wonder if she’d ever seen their color on another. To say they were blue, didn’t do them justice. She had dreamed of him for so many years, she could only stare in wonder that he really stood before her. There was no doubt she trusted him, so she did the most natural thing she could do. Smiling, she looked into his eyes as she reached out to take his hand.

Neither was prepared for the reaction of their hands touching, nay, going through one another. For in truth, they did not stand there in the flesh. They were but memories of what could have been, if only they had been born in the same century. Their heartrending loss brought tears of sorrow to her eyes. With only one look at his face, she knew he felt it, too.

“I do know of you…” he whispered, his voice like a silken caress across her soul.

“You’re name!” she cried out. “Tell me your name!”

He began to fade from her vision, yet still, she heard his voice clearly inside her head. “Katherine…come back to me, my love─”

“I will find you,” she promised him as a mist appeared, surrounding his body until he was at last taken from her sight. Emptiness consumed her entire being with the knowledge he might be lost to her forevermore. She could do only one thing, now that he had been torn from her side. She wept.

Blurb:

Sometimes to find your future, you must look to the past…

Katherine Wakefield has dreamed and written of her knight in shining armor all her life. Never finding a man to measure up to the one of her imagination, she and her three closest friends take a dream vacation to England. Yet, strange things begin happening while visiting Bamburgh Castle, but how could they have known they’d find themselves thrown back more than eight hundred years into the past?

Riorden de Deveraux travels to Bamburgh answering the summons of King Henry II knowing his past life is about to catch up with him. But nothing prepares him for the beautiful vision of a strangely clad ghost who first appears in his chamber, let alone the fact he begins having a conversation with her.

Centuries are keeping them apart until Time gives them a chance at finding love. But there are obstacles threatening the fragile bit of hope that Riorden and Katherine can remain together. Will the past of one consume what their future may hold, or will Time take the decision from them and hurtle Katherine forward to where she truly belongs?

For All of Ever is only the beginning of Katherine and Riorden’s journey to finding love and continues on in Only For You. Get both books in Hearts Across Time, a special edition box set.
