About Sherry

A little bit about myself…

_dsf0006

As a current resident of the San Francisco Bay area, I enjoy living in an area of so many opportunities.  An Information Technology Specialist by day, I transform into an historical and time travel romance author at night awakening the soul one heart at a time.

I am a member of the Bay Area Romance Writers, the Regency Writers, and the Bluestocking Belles.  Being a single mom, I tend to write mostly on the weekends, evenings, or whenever I have time to spare.  I am never without a notebook in case I feel inspired.

I began my writing in 2008 after a friend I had met at some training encourage me to write the novel I had always wanted to compose. It had been put on the back burner for years while I raised my children. Intrigued with the idea, I started the process on that Memorial Day weekend while my daughters and I traveled from rural Nevada to visit my mother in the Bay Area. My girls were true gems as they gave me their input on names and ideas on that long road trip across the desert. I still have all those scraps of paper to this day. It took me 2 1/2 years to complete my first attempt at a manuscript and I finally published it in October 2018. This first novel is entitled One Moment in Time.

With the completion of my first manuscript, I seemingly opened Pandora’s Box since I now have characters “speaking” to me at all hours of the day and night. Perhaps this is a good sign of future books to come. 2012 was extremely productive for my writing endeavors. I finished If My Heart Could See You in January, started a time travel romance entitled For All of Ever in February finishing in May, and then wrote its sequel during the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November entitled Only for You. I  also began A Knight To Call My Own. 2013 was a pretty bad year for a lot of us but I still managed to write again during NaNoWriMo to finish To Follow My Heart.

In 2014, I saw my first self-published work, If My Heart Could See You, hit Amazon’s bestseller list at #3 for the eBook three days after the paperback released. I was stunned and have been humbly grateful to my readers who have made all my books hit those wonderful charts. And so it began…

When I’m not writing, I love to read historical and time travel novels (naturally) and am a huge NASCAR fan. As a matter-of-fact, I do some of my best writing listening to the hum of the engines in the background! I love to camp, although I haven’t had the time since I’ve moved back to the city. I also enjoy hiking, the beach, and checking out our National Parks when the opportunity presents itself.

I’m glad you’ve found my website and I look forward to you joining me on this incredible journey I’m on. I would also like to offer my thanks to all the readers who have purchased my novels, including those who have written such marvelous reviews. I read them all because reviews are the lifeblood for me as an author so others may find my work. Since you took the time to write them, the least I can do is take the time to read them. Thank you!

Best Regards,
Sherry
