Thanks for joining me for another First Kiss Friday. Mary Morgan is no stranger to my blog as you’ve seen her here and also on Medieval Monday’s. Today Mary is sharing an excerpt from Rorik from The Wolves of Clan Sutherland. Enjoy and happy reading, my lovelies.

Excerpt:

Rorik reached for her hand, placing the flower within her palm. “Did you not feel the air warm around us, or the shift in the colors of the land—from the flowers to the sky? If you are silent, they will speak to you.”

“But ’tis a rare gift to sense the ancients within the land,” she returned, glancing down at the offering he presented to her.

“You once said,” Rorik began tentatively, “that I was nae better than my father, but you forgot, my mother belonged to a lineage of seers and druids. Even now, many across these lands still believe in the Pict Gods and Goddesses. I carry part of my mother’s gift inside me.”

Embarrassed to have him mention her words from the past, Ragna turned away. There were so many bitter words between them. How could they manage to have any hope of a conversation with all they had done to each other? Her intention was not to demean his own power, nor to dishonor him. She was simply shocked at his declaration.

What shall I do, Goddess?

A soft breeze caressed her cheek, and her gaze followed the path of a small butterfly. It flitted along without a care in the world. A rare beauty as it disappeared from her vision. The tension in her eased, and she swallowed.

It is time to close the door on the past. Choose your words and make amends.

Turning around, she gave Rorik a weak smile. “Forgive me. I had forgotten about her. Your mother left this world too soon. My mother spoke her praises often when I worked with her on the land collecting herbs and flowers. Once, she mentioned you had been gifted with the sight, but it was not a path for you. You were destined for the brotherhood.”

Rorik cupped her chin—the contact sent a jolt of pleasure over her skin. Lifting her head, she stared into his emerald eyes, studying his intent. With his other arm, he grasped her around the waist.

Her mind screamed to step out of his embrace. Nevertheless, her body betrayed her.

Lowering his head, he murmured. “There is nae need to make amends, Ragna.” His breath was warm against her skin. She shivered from the roughness of his light beard against her cheek. If she turned her head slightly, his lips would be against hers. The air warmed more, leaving her dizzy.

Gently, Rorik guided her lips to meet his. The first brush of his mouth sent a stirring of desire coursing throughout her body. Ragna wrapped her arms around his neck, twining her fingers into his thick hair. He drew forth her moan and answered with one of his own, kissing her more deeply. The savage intensity of her passion for him consumed her, and Ragna surrendered fully to him.

His kiss became urgent as his tongue sought entry into her soft mouth. His hands gripped her waist firmly, and he slowly walked her backward until her back hit the rough bark of a tree.

Breaking free from her mouth, he placed his forehead on hers. His breathing came out in small gasps.

Ragna’s body burned for this man—only him. No other. Did he have regrets for kissing her? She grew weary of the battle between them. She understood who and what he was—seducer and wolf.

Raising her hand, she brushed her fingers across his full lips and was rewarded with another moan from the man. She dared to meet his heated gaze. Lust shimmered back at her within his eyes, along with confusion.

“Kiss me again, Rorik,” she challenged.

He bent his head and trailed a path with his tongue from below her ear down along her neck. “You dare to tempt me further?”

Even though she ached for more from the man, she responded, “I only asked for another kiss.”

His smile came slowly as he cupped her face within his hands. “One more kiss. Anymore and I shall strive to give you more pleasure, and my restraint is failing.”

RORIK, The Wolves of Clan Sutherland, Book 2
by Mary Morgan

The Dark Seducer is known throughout Scotland as a man who charms many women into his bed. Pleasure is his motto as he obtains information for his king. Yet Rorik MacNeil harbors one secret buried beneath his heart of steel. An unfulfilled conquest plagues both man and his inner wolf, and Rorik would rather suffer death’s sharp blade than confront his greatest fear.

As the Seer for the Orkneyjar Isles, Ragna Maddadsson confronts an unknown destiny when she travels across the North Sea to Scotland. In her quest to deliver a message from a powerful vision, she fears the warrior will not listen. If Rorik ignores her warning, Ragna must find a way to forestall his impending death. Excerpt

“Intoxication can unleash the beast within a Fae.” ~Chronicles of the Fae

Conn fought the bolt of desire spearing a path throughout his body. Her touch spoke volumes—an invitation to taste. Never had he longed to kiss a human like this wee lass. His heart beat loudly, and he found himself unable to move. She was a Goddess of the moonlight. It danced off her face and hair, and he trembled before her. Ivy’s fingers traced a path down his cheek and across his lips. He was helpless to contain the growl that escaped from his mouth.

The rush of passion overtook him, and Conn slammed the door on his mind. Grasping Ivy around the waist, he hoisted her up on top of the bridge. Her lips parted on a sigh, and he lowered his mouth to feast on something he dared not take. The first brush of her soft lips against his own ignited a hunger he could no longer contain. Taking her moan deep into him, Conn glorified in the sensation of her mouth—one filled with a honeyed sweetness.

The Fae warrior became just a man for the first time. Something primal burst within him. Emotions he had never felt left him dizzy, spiraling to a physical plane. He craved them all. His lips seared a path down her neck, to her throat, and then recaptured the velvet warmth of her mouth.

Ivy wrapped her arms around his neck, and he deepened the kiss. When her legs went around his waist, he was the one to moan. His body burned to delve inside her—give her all that he had by spilling his seed deep within her. He wanted to claim her for his own. Show her the moon and the stars with every kiss—every touch.

It’s hard to believe it’s already week seven in our Nature theme for Medieval Monday! It’s always such a pleasure to welcome back my friend Mary Morgan to my blog. She has an excerpt for you today from To Weave A Highland Tapestry. Enjoy and happy reading!

Excerpt:

As she gazed into his eyes, Gwen noted the man definitely exhibited the signs of a fever. They were glassy and unfocused. She drew near and reached outward with her hand. When she touched his cheek, he flinched. “I’m merely checking your temperature.”

The man radiated fiery heat, confirming her suspicions. “You smell like honey.”

His smile broadened. “Ye have a cool touch, lass, and ’tis the mead. Alastair was kind enough to give me one cup.”

The burr of his voice skimmed over her skin, and Gwen snatched her hand away. She took a hold of his arm. “You need to get back into bed.”

Patrick chuckled softly. “Are ye going to tuck me beneath the furs?”

Heat blossomed in her cheeks, but she refused to look or answer the man.

“Will ye stay and bring me comfort?”

It’s Medieval Monday and we’re up to week seven on our Celebration theme. You’ve seen her work here before so it’s always a pleasure to welcome back my friend Mary Morgan to my blog. Today Mary has an excerpt from her recently released novel To Weave A Highland Tapestry. I just love this cover! Happy reading and enjoy, my lovelies!

Excerpt:

“About bloody time. We thought ye were rooted to the floor. Until all are accounted for, Cathal will not make his entrance.”

“For the love of the Goddess, leave it be, husband,” pleaded Fiona.

“Gwen was admiring the hall,” confessed Patrick.

Fiona brushed her hand over her husband’s cheek. “See. I told you so.”

Alastair grumbled, but took possession of his wife’s hand and kissed her knuckles. “As always, ye are correct.”

She giggled and scooted closer to him.

After Patrick and Gwen settled into their respective chairs, he reached for a jug of mead. “How can the druid ken when everyone has entered?”

“Exactly what I was going to ask.” Gwen held out her mug to Patrick.

“Never misjudge a druid,” remarked Alastair.

Welcome to my blog and another First Kiss Friday! It’s my pleasure to welcome back my friend Mary Morgan who is also celebrating her latest release, To Weave A Highland  Tapestry. We hope you enjoy this first kiss scene. Happy reading and enjoy, my lovelies!

Excerpt:

“Are ye not overly fond of the bread?”

Gwen blinked and returned her attention to the man. “Excuse me?”

Patrick pointed to the spot in front of her on the table.

Glancing down, she was horrified to find she’d shredded the bread into tiny bits. “The bread is good. I have too much on my mind.” She scooped up the remnants of the bread and tossed them on the trencher.

He leaned his forearms onto the table. “We can have our conversation now, if ye wish.”

Gwen stood. “No. We made a bargain for after your fever lessens. To bed, MacFhearguis.”

A mischievous look came into his eyes as he stood. “I like how ye order me to my bed, lass.”

Chuckling softly, she folded her arms over her chest. I’m not going to continue with this flirtatious bantering. “I’m waiting.”

He approached her. “For what, pray tell.”

“I’m not playing this game.” She tried to hide the mirth from her features. Instead, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the bed.

“I do love a good game,” he declared in a husky voice.

Releasing her hold, she pointed once again to the bed. When Patrick lowered his head toward her face, Gwen shoved against his chest, causing him to tumble back onto the furs. “Rest.”

“Ye could have injured my arm,” he protested.

She fisted her hands on her hips. “A brawn warrior like yourself? Nah. If you can endure the harsh outdoors, climbing the stairs, and attempts at stealing kisses from me, then a tumble on the furs would not do you any harm.”

Patrick’s expression went from humor to compelling and magnetic. He swept a glance down over her body as if he had removed her clothing. Gwen’s breathing hitched, and heat blossomed in places she’d never thought to experience again.

His hand stroked the furs in invitation. “One kiss for healing?”

Her mind screamed to leave and deny Patrick his wish. Her body hastily overrode the demand.

With slow steps, Gwen approached the bed. Leaning forward, she cupped his face. “I shall give the warrior one kiss.”

When the first brush of his mouth touched hers, a prickling of pleasure caressed her entire body. She only meant to give him a chaste peck on the lips, but the man placed his hand on the back of her head and deepened the kiss. As his tongue sought entry into her mouth, Gwen let out a groan and dropped her hands onto his massive thighs. She opened herself to the heady sensation. The kiss promised divine ecstasy, and Gwen surrendered to the mastery of his lips.

Never before had she been kissed so seductively. Her body burned from his touch, and she hungered for more.

As he slowly broke free, she tried to bring her breathing back to normal. She stumbled back, brushing a trembling hand over her lips.

Be My Guest, Historical Romance, Mary Morgan

Hello, my lovelies, and welcome to another First Kiss Friday! Today’s guest is my friend Mary Morgan who is sharing the first kiss scene from her latest release, Destiny of a Warrior. Be sure to show Mary some love by leaving her a comment and also heading over to her Rafflecopter giveaway for your chance to win! Happy reading and enjoy!

Excerpt:

Her sister’s words of warning echoed within her. “Help me to see,” she whispered her plea to the Goddess.

“Whom do you wish to see, Rose?”

She turned so fast that her hand toppled two cups on the table to the floor. Aidan’s eyes blazed like the starlight she’d witnessed, and she fought a wave of dizziness.

He stepped around her and placed the bowls of soup on the table. Grabbing her by the shoulders, Aidan drew her near him. Her instincts were to curl up in his arms. Safe, warm, and seductive.

Rose lifted her head and braved the storm she feared would come with what she would do. He ignited a firestorm just by looking at her. Standing on her tiptoes, she cupped his face and brought his full lips down upon hers.

Aidan tried to throttle the dizzying current racing through him as the first brush of her lips touched his mouth. The heady sensation left him spiraling. His warrior instinct screamed at him to push her away. Spurn her advance and stop this insanity. Yet, he found himself eager and erratic as a summer storm on his home world. His whole being seemed to be waiting for this moment, and Aidan was lost in the euphoria of holding her in his arms. Her kiss was one of exploration—hesitant and unsure, and his calm resolve shattered with the hunger for more.

Grasping her firmly around the waist, Aidan crushed her body to his. Desire ripped through his veins. His tongue sought entry into her soft heat, and he inhaled her scent. Rose returned his kiss with reckless abandon. When she wrapped her arms around his neck, he groaned deep within her mouth.

He let loose the lustful beast demanding control and took possession of her.

Aidan lifted her with one arm, as their kisses became a frenzy of passion. Moving along the table, he came to a halt before the large chair. Shoving it around with one foot, he sat down and cradled Rose on his lap.

She twirled her fingers in his hair while he gazed into liquid pools of desire that mirrored his own. He trailed a path across her lower lip with the pad of his thumb and to the base of her throat where the pulse beat as though her heart had risen from its resting place.

He brushed away strands of silver blonde to cascade over her shoulder so he could bury his face against her neck. “You smell of spices and exotic flowers.” Aidan felt her tremble under his touch as he trailed a path along the vein running up her throat with his tongue and then recaptured her lips, devouring their softness.

He drank in the sweetness and passion of the kiss, exploring, teasing, and tempting him beyond all reason. Rose banished the darkness, and in its place there reigned starlight.

One kiss should have been enough. However, his soul cried out for more, and the Fae warrior became the man, yearning to experience what he had been denied.

Aidan banished all rational thought, except one. Conquer and possess the woman in his arms.

DESTINY OF A WARRIOR
by Mary Morgan

Blurb:

“You met him in the Order of the Dragon Knights. Now, journey to the realm of the Fae and witness their greatest legend!”

As leader of the Fenian Warriors, Aidan Kerrigan’s accolades are many and his loyalty to the Fae unwavering. When an unexpected mission sends him to the human world and a chance encounter with Rose MacLaren, he’s tempted for the first time in his existence to discard duty and claim what is forbidden.

Rose MacLaren, a Society of the Thistle member, yearns to expand her botanical knowledge with her love of history. After her rescue by a handsome stranger, she is compelled to look beyond what her rational mind comprehends and unravel the secret of the standing stones, as well as the man who captivates her.

In a mystical world ruled by ancient laws and edicts, can a fierce warrior choose a path destined for love? And will a woman honoring the ways of the land believe in a myth only spoken of in legends? If they do, will their love be enough to defy death’s punishment?

It’s always a pleasure when I can bring back my friend Mary Morgan for another First Kiss Friday! Today Mary will be giving you a sneak peak of her soon to be released novella, A Highland Moon Enchantment. Happy reading and enjoy!

Excerpt:

His mind screamed to stay rooted in his chair, but his body betrayed him. Standing, he reached for her hand. “I will escort ye to your chamber.”

She eyed him with curiosity and stood. “Nae. Take me to the north wall. I hear the view of the loch is one that steals the breath from your lungs.”

“Done.” When her fingers slipped into his, Desmond fought the urge to crush her to his chest.

Placing her soft hand in the crook of his arm, he led her quickly out of the hall and up the stairs. Bending to the left, he took her along a corridor and up a narrow circular pathway. The torches flickered as he approached the door leading to the north wall.

A cold draft blew by them, and she shivered. Instantly, regret filled him realizing he had not considered to bring a cloak for her.

Desmond paused by the door. “Ye should not venture out into the biting cold without a cloak.”

Her eyes narrowed. “I simply wish to capture a quick look, not spend the night sleeping out there.”

Shaking his head, he pushed open the massive oak door. Brittle air slapped at his face while they made their way up along the wall.

“’Tis cold,” she muttered, but chuckled softly and hugged his arm. “But ye are warm.”

“We shall not tarry long,” he assured her and placed a warm hand over hers.

“Oh, sweet Goddess. Look at the moon, Desmond. Her light shimmers over the water. I have now witnessed the charm of the loch in sunlight and moonlight. Though our rivers are stunning on their own, they cannae rival this view. As I have told ye, our island is shrouded in mists, so ye cannae see verra far out into the sea.”

Desmond’s focus was not on the moon, but the beauty standing beside him. To take what he dared not possess. He marveled at her delight of the striking scene.

Ailsa turned toward him. “Thank ye, Desmond, truly.”

Her nearness was overpowering, seducing him in a way he had never known. Desmond cupped her chin. Her eyes widened, and her lips parted in invitation. Moonlight and lust danced within her eyes. No longer did he battle with his mind and body, and he slowly lowered his head.

And under the silent whisper of a full moon, Desmond captured her soft lips within his own. He

could taste her sweetness mixed with the wine, and desire shot through his veins. His hands shook as he placed them securely on her waist. As he deepened the kiss, she placed her hands around his neck. Desmond groaned, crushing her body against him.

ORDER OF THE DRAGON KNIGHTS

Dare to journey with the Dragon Knights of Scotland!

They were an ancient order descended from the great Tuatha De Danann, a tribe from the Goddess Danu. Half human and half fae, each blessed with mystical powers. They were also given holy relics and guardianship over the dragons.

With the dawn of Christianity, the dragons were systematically hunted down and slain leaving only one. The Dragon Knights took her from Ireland to a land across the sea, settling in the Great Glen near Urquhart. The clan was known as the MacKay clan, descendants from the MacAoidh.

Yet, there were those who deemed the Order had too much power, and they tried to possess it for themselves. They were evil and twisted, and their plan succeeded one fateful night. A battle was fought and their sister was killed.

The Clan Mackay is no longer.

The Dragon Knights scattered across the land.

Yet out of the darkness, they will each fight for redemption.

Bio:

Award-winning Scottish paranormal romance author, Mary Morgan, resides in Northern California, with her own knight in shining armor. However, during her travels to Scotland, England, and Ireland, she left a part of her soul in one of these countries and vows to return.

Mary’s passion for books started at an early age along with an overactive imagination. She spent far too much time daydreaming and was told quite often to remove her head from the clouds. It wasn’t until the closure of Borders Books where Mary worked that she found her true calling–writing romance. Now, the worlds she created in her mind are coming to life within her stories.

If you enjoy history, tortured heroes, and a wee bit of magic, then time-travel within the pages of her books.

Excerpt:

“I would advise ye to drop your weapon, MacKay. Ye will tell your brothers and the others to cease. Or…” He squeezed Deirdre’s arm, causing her to cry out in pain.

“Don’t Angus—” she pleaded.

Lachlan placed his dirk at her throat, drawing forth blood. “Did I not warn ye to keep your mouth shut? Ye should heed my words, or I will slit your throat in front of your Dragon Knight,” he snapped.
