Excerpt:

“He is too proud to hide. And locking him away somewhere on the earth is not enough. Ankou would find him. He must be hidden away somewhere Ankou will not think to look. You have the power of time-travel. You could hide him anywhere, during any era. He would be safe then. He would have your protection.”

“It is a lot to ask. Why should I do this for you?” She could guess the answer, but again, that would make it too easy for Borvo’s cheating wife.

“Do not do it for me, but for him.” Demona nodded at the god lying prone at their feet. “You are the goddess of justice. There is no justice in Borvo’s curse. It is not Ioeannan’s fault he is irresistible.”

Arduinna’s eyes were pulled again to Ioeannan as she considered Demona’s plea. One thing was certain. It was not fair for anyone to be so decadently gorgeous. “Very well,” she finally said. “I will do as you ask, but not for you. It was your inability to control yourself that put him in danger to begin with. I will secret him away, but only I will know his whereabouts.”
